So we now had a name THE LIVERPOOL CRUSADERS......The next task was to sort out the uniforms,a Military style was designed and the colours were to be Blue,White and Red with Blue and White being the prominent colours......Mainly because i am an Evertonian.............

Before the troupe could venture into competiton a lot of work had to be done with the uniforms. The making of the uniforms had proved more difficult than was first thought,with up to 60 Jackets,Skirts and hats to be made. This was no mean undertaking! At this point i would like to mention Marie,without her i doubt wether the uniforms would have been ready in time.

I lost count of the times i went to bed and left her until the early hours of the morning working and sorting out the problems in the making of these uniforms that were constantly being thrown up but true to form and with the help of Joan,Paula,Carol,Anne and Hilary, they were ready in time.

At this point i would like to mention that a further set of uniforms were made a couple of years later with the help also of Jenny, Jayne and Lynn.

Of course the uniforms had to be looked after ,washed ,pressed ,repaired and over the years the people who looked after them namely Marie,Joan,Carol ,Paula,Jenny,Jayne,Cathy,Ivy and Helen can take great credit for the immaculate way they were turned out.

As well as looking after the uniforms these ladies checked that the girls were turned out for competition in the correct manner i.e Dress checked ,hair done ,socks ,pumps all had to be uniform and generally make sure the girls were ready for competition ...........Not once did they let me down,they were a pleasure to be with........
